Big Buddah

One week into the trip and I never want it to end. It's mso hot here. Hot and sweaty and pungent. I love it. I am writing this from a deliciously air conditioned internet cafe, mind you, but will not be cranky when i go back outside to jump on my teal hello kitty scooter. We just finished breakfast...90 [...]

We are back on Sora and planning on day sailing along the coast for the next week or so. Both Mandy and dad have got new cameras so the photo gallery will soon be [...]

One week into the trip and I never want it to end. It's mso hot here. Hot and sweaty and pungent. I love it. I am writing this from a deliciously air conditioned internet cafe, mind you, but will not be cranky when i go back outside to jump on my teal hello kitty scooter. We just finished breakfast...90 cent spicy rice noodle porkball soup.

The water here is an amazing temperature...somewhere inbetween refresingly cool and ohhhh...I just peed in my wetsuit. The jellyfish dont sting...or haven't yet and there fish everywhere. We haven't had much wind but that's no problem cause we just putt putt onto the next island or bay. The topography is a delightful mix of New Zealand greenery, Marquesian dramatic cliffs, and yet has it's own flare that is intoxicating. It's not often that i'm stunned to the point that i have no words, but damn...this place has done it to me several times.

Mom, Mandy, and I are taking a cooking class in a couple of days. I am trying to go scuba diving, but don't have a phisical copy of my PADI card which makes it a wee bit difficult. We may rent some tanks and go find our own whale shark. We are anchored in Nei Harn around the corner from Patong beach. Still left to do? See the elephants, visit the big Buddah on top of the hill, purchase a new wardrobe for less than 100$, and of course clear up the rumour about the ping pong balls.

Cheers to family excursions
Cassie
