Monasterio de Santa Catalina in Arequipa, built in 1580. It housed 450 people and took up a city block.
Alfajores - The best cookies ever! We first found these in Buenos Aires a few years ago and were excited to see them again in Peru. They are 2 sugar/butter cookies with dulce de leche in between and then covered in powdered sugar. Yummy.
