Great day, motorsailing, nice weather, no thunderstorms finally. We finally got to hook-up with our good friend Demi and his friend Peter. We had a fine time catching up on the past year. We will be sailing together to St. Augustine if we can keep up, as he motors faster than we motorsail. Last night, just as our guests were leaving we noticed the phosphouresence in the water, this was Gloria's first time seeing this remarkable event. If you have not heard of this, or seen it , it is when, very small animals that are disturbed ,glow in the dark. You can see the fish as they move and when they dart around it looks like small lightning bolts. Is was a impresive show as I raced the dingy around lighting up the area. Tomarrow New Smyrna Beach if the thunderstorms hold off.

Serious Thunderstorms

Great day motorsailing 6.5 knots sunny, just how it should be,THEN 4:00 PM. Serious thunderstorms tonight blinding rain, 50 mph winds, lightning all around for several hours. The Rocna held firm and the new cockpit windows were great. So we hunkered down and got a break between storms long enough to grill up some burgers. It's all good. Did not get to see Demi as he also had to hunkerdown, maybe tomarrow.
Tomarrow ?? but we want to get north and get away fron these big thunderstorms

Another close call

Pretty much a normal day moving north. We passed the canal where Demi was staying, early in the morning as he was waiting for high tide. The day changes, OH SO quickly, Gloria was driving when we hit something in the middle of the chanell and wraped it around the prop. Gloria very quickly put it into neutral and then could only run the engine as slow as posible because of the bad vibration. We quickly decided, as there were not many options at this point as we were in a narrow channel and a 1/2 mile from a bridge and a 1/2 mile from the bridge we just went thru. These bridges only open every 1/2 hour and it would be very difficult to navigate. We found a empty dock at a yacht sales office and limped in. I got out the mask and snorkel and dove on the prop--nothing there, as gloria put the boat into forward and reverse to get to the dock it must have came loose. Great news no damage other than a little nick and it seems not to be a problem. And then ofcoarse at 4:00 pm large thunderstorms. Tomarrow Fort Pierce.
