We bought another boat...

So we've bought another trailer sailor. Meet S/V Webfoot. The name came with the boat and we like it enough to keep it. The existing lettering is very fun and since we thought to name our dinghy Tenderfoot we've grown very fond of the name.
Speaking of fun names for tenders... a very clever one I saw recently was Tender Behind. :-)
With the state of the economy we decided it would be too risky to buy the big boat now. Besides, this way we get to learn tons more, and mistakes won't be as costly.
We found a great 1999 MacGregor 26X with a solid trailer. Over Memorial Day weekend we trailered it up to Hood Canal and had sort of a shakedown cruise. We found a few leaks and also decided on some mods that would be helpful in the future. The weather was amazing and the tide was low enough in the late mornings to dig up a few clams.
Last weekend we trailered Webfoot west to Ilwaco, WA. From there we headed upriver and overnighted at anchor off Sand Island. He winds picked up a lot throughout the night but we had picked a spot that would put us high and dry during the night so we had no worries and slept great. In the morning we once again had plenty of water under the boat.
