Nice

That's Better

She is finally looking a bit better.

Finally in Brisbane Waters
01/05/2009

5 th January 2008 was the day she finally was in my hands and in the water. Sad though as she was dirty with grease and soot all over her and scuff marks all over her hull.
The bilge was full and unfortunately the bilge pump didn't work so it wasn't pleasant pumping it out by hand...lol... The good news was that she started first go and her batteries were in excellent condition. Alex worked well and helped give her a quick hose down and she also took some pictures. The above photo was our first look at her as we came through the gates of the marina. See the gallery for the rest of the happy snaps of the grime and dirt.
The next step is to get the mast and rigging up so stay tuned.........

She has made it home

Finally, after so many months and at great expense Phoenix Star sits proudly on Fisherman Island Wharf No 1....AUSTRALIA..lol...now all I have to do is get my hands on her and put her back together.

Unfortunately, she is sitting at the water side of the wharf and hard to photograph.

There She Goes
08/13/2008

There she goes on the back of a truck...not the ending I wanted. Well, at least she will be in Brisbane sooner rather than later.......oh and by the way the truck had to pick Phoenix up early as they were filming an episode of CSI Miami....yeh in Long Beach, (lol..it's not even on the same coast) and they were closing the shipyard for filming.. no we didn't see any of the cast...just a lot of dicks pretending to be uniformed cops...but we did see the CSI Hummer.....lol

They (CSI) could have had you written into the script as a 'guest appearance'!
At least you'll be arriving back to Aust safely and in one piece. :-D
Decommissioning
08/13/2008

Oh well it couldn't last for ever but it was time to store things away and end the journey. I downed the boom, sails and Radar mast while Rick the Rigger un-stepped the mast.......she looks naked and sad.....

George,
Take solace from the fact that this is one adventure that hasn't ended in the hospital. Come home safe.
